Item roles in the puzzle toolkit
Portable tools change how groups solve communication puzzles. Each item page records its confirmed behavior and the mechanics still being tested:
- Walkie-talkie — The walkie-talkie is a communication item in Big Walk. Official sources confirm that voices crackle through it, and the FAQ says text chat works with it too. No official source publishes an exact range.
- Laser pointer — The laser pointer is an officially named Big Walk tool used to direct attention visually. Its exact beam distance, visibility rules, and puzzle-specific interactions have not been published.
- Megaphone — The megaphone is an officially named Big Walk communication tool. A matching model exists in the release build, but House House has not published exact amplification, range, or obstruction rules.
- Flashlight — The flashlight is a portable Big Walk item confirmed by a launch-day hands-on report and by TorchProp references in the release build. Battery life, brightness controls, and spawn locations remain unverified.
- Backpack — The backpack is wearable carrying equipment in Big Walk. A launch-day hands-on report says players normally carry one object in their hands and later find backpacks that help with item juggling; exact capacity is not yet verified.
- Holster — The holster is wearable carrying equipment in Big Walk. A launch-day report groups it with backpacks as a useful accessory, while local data shows a HolsterProp with belt, storage-home, and eject-system references.
Puzzle chambers in the build
The release build names a set of challenge chambers and rooms. These names are asset-level evidence that the challenges exist; their rules, routes, and exact required player counts are not yet reproduced in a released session.
- Gauntlet chambers — Peg tiles, Press-in-order, Kick-to-kick, Sim press, Volleyball (2/4-player variants), Invisible ink, and Sculptures, each with 2/3/4-player variants in the build.
- Silent Gauntlet — 2/3/4-player variants of a silent-communication chamber.
- Named rooms and attractions — Cabin Fever, Carton Plaza, Salon (with mirror), coloured lookouts, Labyrinth, Carousel, Pyramid, Big Screen, semaphore rooms, optical telegraph, and the Coordinates pavilion.
- Coordinates area — a pavilion, box teleports, and “sim press” objects named after the map-coordinate system, matching the GameSpot 4166, 1899 route.
Until each chamber is reproduced in-game, these entries stay build evidence rather than walkthrough answers.
Third-party route leads (credited launch guides)
Launch-week guides by ScreenHype and GameSpot published coordinates and puzzle shorthands for the tower routes. This wiki records them as credited third-party leads, not as confirmed solutions: coordinates are waypoints for identifying a puzzle, and each entry stays marked “pending in-game reproduction” until a session verifies it. Puzzle names are the guides’ practical shorthand—Big Walk often leaves puzzles unnamed in-game.
One lead has been checked against the local release build (v1.4.7): the pair 4166, 1899 exists in the scene as an in-game signpost text, matching
GameSpot’s route. The other coordinates below were not found as in-game labels in the
inspected scene files, so they remain third-party leads.
Crosswalk
The Beach control panel is placed at 3550, 1100. Higher player counts reportedly add more targets while keeping the same puzzle logic.
| Puzzle | Coordinate | Core idea |
|---|---|---|
| Crane puzzle | 3520, 1280 | Lift a partner so the raised player can press the crane button. |
| Spyglass puzzle | 3510, 1195 | One player holds the platform button while another follows the revealed red light. |

| Green scaffolding puzzle | 3650, 1220 | Two players hit buttons on opposite sides in a quick sequence. |
Red Tower & Map Room
The Red Tower key reportedly opens the Map Room, with the entrance at 3560, 1425 and the tower at 3670, 1400.
| Puzzle | Coordinate | Core idea |
|---|---|---|
| Silent Room | 3760, 1430 | The locked-in player points toward buttons the outside player must press. |

| Pass-the-Ball | 3740, 1620 | Move a heavy ball player-to-player because the holder cannot walk. |
| Basketball Hoop | 3830, 1560 | Throw a lantern into the hoop until the progress meter fills. |
| Cannonball | 3880, 1520 | Launch the timer, recover it below, then return it to the green pedestal quickly. |
Blue Tower & trains
The Blue Tower route reportedly unlocks the train loop, with the main station at 3380, 1740 and the tower at 3540, 1850.

Green Tower & chairlift
The Green Tower route reportedly unlocks the main chairlift station near 3950, 1950, with the tower at 3930, 1900.
| Puzzle | Coordinate | Core idea |
|---|---|---|
| Lightbulb / speaker locked room | 3825, 1930 | Separate rooms share missing symbol positions through a light and speaker. |
| Crane drop | 3790, 2250 | Two distant switches must be triggered inside a short timing window. |

Coordinate puzzle: 4166, 1899
GameSpot describes a locked reward box whose nearby plank shows the coordinate pair 4166, 1899. Read it as a map coordinate after unlocking the Map Room: one player stays with the box while another travels and holds a camouflaged button near the railway/chairlift area.
Build check (v1.4.7): the pair 4166, 1899 was found in the
local macOS release build as an in-game signpost text, matching GameSpot’s route. The
button and reward-box steps still need in-game reproduction before they become confirmed
solutions.

Confirmed answers vs open leads
The wiki separates confirmed answers from leads. As of August 6, 2026:
- Confirmed: puzzle families exist (gourds, keys, radios, flags, buoys, telescopes, volleyball), challenge variants exist, and the map labels suggest their regions.
- Open leads: exact interaction sequences, required group sizes, reset rules, and reward conditions for each family.
- Credited third-party leads: tower-route coordinates and puzzle shorthands from ScreenHype and GameSpot, pending in-game reproduction.
- Unverified: the Secret Zone’s entrance and contents, the Orb Ridge “orb” reference, and the airfield valley’s role.
When a solution can be reproduced in a released session, it will be added to the relevant world-object page and linked here, and the third-party entry will be reclassified from “lead” to “confirmed.” Send a reproducible observation—platform, group size, zone, and steps—to help close the open leads.
Evidence: locally inspected macOS release build (v1.4.7), the official Big Walk FAQ, and the PC Gamer launch-day hands-on report. Tower-route coordinates are credited third-party leads from ScreenHype and GameSpot, reviewed August 6, 2026, and remain pending in-game reproduction.
