How to play Big Walk

Big Walk is an online co-op walking game: you talk, wander, get separated, and find your way back. Here is the verified play loop in four steps.

The play loop

01
Gather your group

You need at least two people. There is no random matchmaking, so bring players you know.

02
Pick a host

The host owns the save and must start each session to continue the same journey.

03
Choose a world version

Host picks 2-player, 3-player, or 4+-player; the world adapts to the expected minimum group.

04
Join and talk

Same-platform friends use the friends menu; mixed groups use a Join Code. Voice and text obey distance rules.

World versions

The host chooses a version of the world before the walk starts. The overall maximum is always 12 players.

VersionMinimum playersDesign focus
2-player2Intimate, focused co-op
3-player3Small-group dynamics
4+ player4Deliberately chaotic large group

Communication is the mechanic

Voice fades with distance, echoes in corridors, muffles through walls, and is blocked by soundproof glass. Text chat follows the same rules. Walkie-talkies add a radio treatment, megaphones amplify, and pointing or waving works when words fail. Keep your group inside the game’s chat instead of an external call.
